KEYSTONE HEIGHTS—The Lake Region Kiwanis Community Band will present a free concert at noon on Saturday, June 10, inside the restored and air-conditioned Keystone Beach Pavilion.
The 20-piece all-volunteer band has musicians from high school students to senior citizens. It features a full brass and woodwind section along with bass, drums, guitar, keyboards, four vocalists, and several professional players.
The 45-minute show will feature vocal and instrumental selections, including the 60s hits “Downtown” and “Hold On, I’m Comin’”; a big band swing favorite, “Puttin’ on the Ritz”, Louis Prima’s “Just a Gigolo”; the country ballad “When You Say Nothing at all” and 80’s pop hits “Time After Time” and “The Final Countdown.”
In its ninth year, the band thanks the Lake Region Kiwanis Club for being its sponsor and the City of Keystone Heights for making it the city’s official community band and for the use of Keystone’s historic pavilion.
The event promises to be fun for the whole family.
