STARKE—Providence Christian Academy has acquired a 13,000-square-foot building that formally housed a substance abuse and mental health rehabilitation center for veterans.
Transition House Inc. is a St. Cloud-based non-profit that operates treatment facilities in Central Florida, providing outpatient, partial hospitalization, and residential short- and long-term treatment care.
On July 31, Providence Christian Academy bought Transition House’s rehabilitation center and the nearly six-acre parcel on which the center is located for $850,000.
The property is between the River of Life Church and the Patriot Saloon on U.S. 301 north of Starke.
The school currently operates at 743 South Walnut Street, south of Advanced Auto Parts, in a building owned by Craig Sally Property Management Inc.
That site is slated to become part of a Wawa convenience store.
