Keystone Heights High School’s boys golf team won its last two matches — both of which were hosted by Bradford High School — to improve to 5-0.
On Aug. 22, the Indians had a team score of 159 to finish 54 strokes ahead of the Tornadoes.
The Indians’ Connor Guy shot par on all nine holes to finish as medalist with a score of 36. Nick Binet had a birdie and made par on five holes for a second-place score of 39.
Bradford’s Charles Zink had a third-place score of 40, making one birdie and shooting par on five holes.
Keystone’s Alex Addington and Ty Mitzel finished tied for fourth, each shooting a 42. Addington had a birdie and made par on three holes, while Mitzel made par on five holes.
The Indians’ Jacob Beach and Will Begue were sixth and seventh, respectively, with scores of 45 and 51. Beach had a birdie and made par on one hole.
Bradford’s Jeffrey Brugh and Robert Halsey were eighth and ninth, respectively, with scores of 56 and 57. Halsey made par on one hole.
Avery Burgin was 10th for the Tornadoes with a score of 60, followed by teammates Jaylen Hampton (63) and Kaylee Devore (64).
The two teams met again on Aug. 24 in a match that also included Columbia. Keystone placed first with a score of 161, which was two strokes ahead of Columbia. Bradford had a score of 196.
Mitzel finished five strokes behind medalist Connor Williams of Columbia. Mitzel made par on six holes for a score of 39.
Guy had a birdie and made par on three holes for a third-place score of 40, while Addington and Binet each shot 41 to tie for fourth. Addington made par on six holes, while Binet made a birdie and shot par on four holes.
Beach and the Tornadoes’ Zink each shot 43 to tie for eighth. Beach made par on three holes, while Zinke made par on four.
Brugh and Burgin each had a score of 50 to tie for 12th. Burgin made par on three holes.
Halsey and Keystone’s Hunter Sheppard each shot 53 to finish tied for 14th. Sheppard made par on one hole.
The Tornadoes’ Hampton and Devore were 16th and 17th, respectively, with scores of 57 and 59. Hampton made par on one hole.
