KHHS boys golf team now 10-0 after defeat of visiting Palatka

Keystone Heights High School had three individuals take the top-three spots in a win over visiting Class 2A Palatka on Sept. 14.

The Indians (10-0) had a team score of 153, which put them 26 strokes ahead of the Panthers.

Alex Addington made par on all nine holes to finish as medalist with a score of 36. Connor Guy, who had an eagle and two birdies and made par on three holes, was one stroke behind him.

Nick Binet, who had a birdie and made par on six holes, shot a third-place score of 39.

Ty Mitzel and Shepherd Rozier placed fifth and sixth, respectively, with scores of 41 and 43. Mitzel had a birdie and made par on three holes, while Rozier had two birdies and made par on two holes.

Will Begue, who made par on three holes, shot an eighth-place score of 47.

Keystone played Clay this past Tuesday and will travel to The Golf Club at Fleming Island on Thursday, Sept. 21, to play Fleming Island and Episcopal at 3:30 p.m.

Episcopal is the Class 1A state runner-up from last season. Fleming Island placed sixth at last year’s Class 3A state tournament.
