Santa Fe expands technical training

STARKE—Santa Fe College has expanded its certification training program. This program allows unemployed and underemployed people to gain industry certification skills in high-demand jobs.

“The idea is that we are providing certifications that are high-demand, high-growth, and good pay.” Said Trenton Hightower, director of workforce development customized training at Santa Fe College. “We’re using statistical data that identify what the high-demand jobs are in the county. So that we know that if they get certified, there are jobs available.”

The program has over a hundred courses offering skillsets needed to succeed in any job, such as IT, medical, accounting, and real estate. New programs include Microsoft Office, Quickbooks, pharmacy, phlebotomy, and weatherization.
