Bradford middle and high schools hosted their annual Bradford Cross-Country Invitational on Oct. 21, with Anna Adkins and Tinsley Fortune earning top-10 finishes for the BMS girls team.
Adkins placed seventh out of 36 in the 3K race with a time of 13:21. Fortune had a 10th-place time of 14:24.
Bradford’s Autumn Dilung also ran, finishing with a time of 20:37.
Suwannee Speed’s Olivia Harmanson was the top runner, crossing the finish line in 11:26.
Two full teams competed in the middle-school girls race. Suwannee Speed placed first with 25 points, while Oakleaf was second with 30.
The race also consisted of runners representing Baldwin, Palatka and Yulee.
BHS runner Alissa Reddish placed 21st out of 41 in the girls varsity 5K race with a time of 26:41. Ny’Asia Lopey also ran for the Tornadoes, finishing with a time of 38:36.
North Marion’s Chloe Fields ran a first-place time of 21:53.
Three schools had full teams in the girls varsity race. Oakleaf placed first with 21 points, followed by Columbia (38) and Eastside (81).
Runners representing Baldwin, Gainesville, Palatka, Peniel Baptist and Yulee also competed.
The boys high school race consisted of 95 runners. Brett Redding led Bradford with a 70th-place time of 23:15, while Kayden Lee and Dalton Bergstrom had times of 25:18 and 31:27, respectively.
Oakleaf’s Jack Strombeck won the race with a time of 17:36.
Buchholz placed first in the team standings with 36 points. Oakleaf, which had 51 points, was second, followed by Columbia (68), Eastside (90), Palatka (172), Peniel (186), Newberry (191), Yulee (192) and Baldwin (199).
Gainesville and North Marion also had runners in the race.
Bradford had no runners in the boys middle-school race, which was won by Oakleaf’s Cody Adler, who had a time of 11:26.
Oakleaf, which had runners finish in the top three spots, was the only school with a full team in the race.
Baldwin and Yulee also had runners compete.
