Apartments failed to pay repair bill

A judge entered a default judgment against the owner and manager of Whispering Oaks Apartments for not paying a repair bill.

Best Restoration LLC sued 900 South Water Street LLC and Broad Street Management Group LLC in August for an unpaid $5,271.34 invoce.

According to court papers, in June, Jennifer Crooms, holding herself out as the complex’s property manager and employee of Broad Street Management, hired Best Restoration to remediate extensive water damage on the property. After Broad Street Management Group failed to pay the invoice, the plaintiff sued for breach of contract and unjust enrichment. The defendants then failed to appear at an October 12 pretrial conference, and Judge D. Tatum Davis entered the default judgment against the defendants.
