Goalie Aspen Krohn made 11 saves, but the Keystone Heights High School girls soccer team fell to 1-2 after a 5-0 loss to host Columbia on Nov. 13.
The Indians were coming off a 5-3 win over visiting Williston on Nov. 10. Kiersten Shaw, who was one of the state’s leading scorers last season, scored every goal, with three coming off assists by Alee Horton, Halea Lam and Ashly McCarthy.
While the varsity team lost to Columbia, the junior varsity team rallied from a 6-2 first-half deficit to win 8-7. Tayler Buchanan and Kayden Huntley scored three and two goals, respectively, while the following scored one each: Jules Marini, Alonah Neeld and Alexis VanNordstrand.
The JV team is now 1-1.
Both teams play at Suwannee on Thursday, Nov. 16, with the JV playing at 5:30 p.m. and the varsity playing at 7:20 p.m. The Keystone teams then travel to play Crescent City on Friday, Nov. 17, at 5:30 p.m. and 7:20 p.m.
