Ella Hutchins scored two unassisted goals, while goalies Xana Briley and Aspen Krohn combined for a second-half shutout in the Keystone Height High School girls soccer team’s 2-1 win over visiting Class 5A Ridgeview on Dec. 4.

Keystone (4-2-1) took a 1-0 lead in the eighth minute when Hutchins connected on a long shot from the corner of the field.

The Panthers just missed tying it up three minutes later on a shot that sailed over the net. In the 17th minute, Ridgeview had an unsuccessful corner-kick opportunity as well as a long shot on goal that bounced off the corner post.

Krohn made a save in the 19th minute, but the Panthers found the mark in the 24th minute, making it 1-1.

That’s how the score stood at halftime, with Krohn making saves in the 26th and 32nd minutes.

Hutchins scored what would be the match-winning goal in the 55th minute.

Krohn finished with 10 saves, while Briley had five.

Keystone entered the match off an 8-1 District 4-3A win over host Interlachen on Nov. 28. Kiersten Shaw took 15 shots on goal, connecting on six. Hutchins and Ashly McCarthy each added a goal.

Hutchins, Halea Lam and Kaylee Park each recorded one assist.

Krohn made seven saves.

The Indians travel to Ocala to play Class 5A Vanguard on Thursday, Dec. 7, at 5:30 p.m. They then travel to play district opponent Fort White on Monday, Dec. 11, at 6 p.m. before returning home to play Class 4A Suwannee on Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 7:20 p.m.
