Union County High School’s wrestling team hosted Baker County on Dec. 11, losing 57-19.
The Tigers, who forfeited five weight classes, had four individual wins, with two coming by pins: Alex Cortese over Tommy Rollins in the 175-pound class and Maddox Wheeler over Hank Stronko in the 215 class.
Drew Simmons won the 144 class with a 15-5 major decision over Jonathon Walker, while Dyland Lane defeated Jordan Allaart to win the 285 class.
Evan Roberts lost a close 8-6 match against Baker’s Evan Irish in the 150 class.
Union’s Brian Sparkman, Gavin Sparkman, Carsen Thomas and Tucker Williams also wrestled, losing by pins.
The Tigers traveled to Middleburg on Dec. 15, dropping a 72-12 match to the Broncos. Union forfeited six classes.
Wyatt Elixson earned one of two wins for Union, pinning Rafael Hernandez in 28 seconds to take the 147 class.
Cortese had the other win, pinning Seth Straub in 1:20.
Lane, Roberts, Hunter Cruz, Edward Durant, Clifton Ivey and Jameson Lang also wrestled for the Tigers.
