A goal for each team in the second half provided all of the scoring as the Keystone Heights High School boys soccer team tied host Middleburg 1-1 in a Dec. 18 boys soccer match.

A.J. Nilsen scored the Indians’ goal off a Sammy Wacha assist.

Keystone (8-1-1) went 1-1 in its previous two matches, suffering its first loss in a 5-3 match against District 4-3A opponent P.K. Yonge on Dec. 13 in Gainesville.

Nilsen, Wacha and Luke Brunt each scored a goal, with Wacha and Aaron Wiley each recording an assist.

The Indians bounced back with a 10-2 win at Newberry on Dec. 14, improving their district record to 5-1.

Bryce Huntley and Wiley scored four and three goals, respectively, while Wacha had two. Noah Jaramillo added one goal.

Brunt led the team in assists with three, while Wiley had two. Nilson and Logan Spence each had one assist.

Keystone played Fernandina Beach this past Tuesday and won’t be back in action until Thursday, Jan. 4, in a road match against Trenton at 7 p.m.
