Paige Harrington won two championships, while Chloe Still won one in helping the Keystone Heights High School girls weightlifting team claim both traditional and Olympic trophies for the second straight year at the District 6-1A meet, which was hosted by KHHS on Jan. 26.
The Indians won the Olympic team championship with a score of 57, which put them two points ahead of Baldwin. Keystone and Baldwin each had 42 points to finish as co-champions of the traditional event.
Harrington topped the 183-pound class in both events. She had a snatch of 105 and a clean and jerk of 140 to finish with a 245 total in the Olympic event. Her bench press of 120, when paired with her clean-and-jerk total, gave her an overall total of 260 in the traditional event.
The traditional event also saw Still win the 139 class with a 280 total. She had a bench press of 145 and a clean and jerk of 135.
Still also had a snatch of 85, which helped her finish as her class’ runner-up in the Olympic event.
Class champions automatically qualified for the Region 2 meet, which will be held Saturday, Feb. 3, at 11 a.m. at Chiefland High School.
At-large qualifiers (16 in each weight class) will be announced at a later date.
15 lifters earn points in Olympic event
Lifters placing in the top six earned points toward Keystone’s team score. The Indians had 13 lifters besides Harrington and Still earn points in the Olympic event.

Still was just one of five Olympic runners-up, with Cadie Bowles, Kourtney Marsh, Ashlyn Brown and Lily Mitchell also earning second-place finishes. Bowles had a 145 total (60 snatch, 85 clean and jerk) in the 101 class, while Marsh had a 185 total (75, 110) in the 119 class. Brown had a 245 total (115, 130) in the 154 class, while Mitchell was runner-up to Harrington in the 183 class with a 200 total (85, 115).
Marsh finished in a tie with Eastside’s Lacy Liddie, who was awarded third place due to the weigh-in tiebreaker.
Four lifters earned third-place finishes: Alivia Richardson with a 140 total (60, 80) in the 101 class, Madison Sapp with a 160 total (65, 95) in the 110 class, Kenly Chitty with a 230 total (95, 135) in the 154 class and Morgan Wilson with a 205 total (85, 120) in the 169 class.
Raegan Lee was fourth in the 169 class with a 185 total (80, 105), while Jaden Fernandez and Ava Herman earned fifth-place finishes. Fernandez had a 135 total (55, 80) in the 110 class, while Herman had a 225 total (90, 135) in the unlimited class.
Bella Parmeter and Trista Harrison also earned points with sixth-place finishes. Parmeter had a 155 total (65, 90) in the 119 class, while Harrison had a 175 total (75, 100) in the 129 class.
Also competing were Shelby Wilson, who had a seventh-place total of 160 (65, 95) in the 129 class, and Dakota Herring, who had a seventh-place total of 210 (90, 120) in the unlimited class.
12 earn points in traditional event
Besides Harrington and Still, 10 lifters earned points for the Indians in the traditional event, including Mitchell, who was the runner-up to Harrington in the 183 class with a 255 total (140 bench press, 115 clean and jerk).
Bowles and Chitty earned third-place finishes. Bowles had a 165 total (80, 85), while Chitty had a 245 total (110, 135).
Three lifters placed fourth: Richardson with a 145 total (65, 80), Brown with a 240 total (110, 130) and Morgan Wilson with a 245 total (125, 120).
Other lifters who earned points were Marsh with a fifth-place total of 200 (90, 110), Herman with a fifth-place total of 280 (145, 135), Fernandez with a sixth-place total of 145 (65, 80) and Lee with a sixth-place total of 230 (125, 105).
Also competing were Shelby Wilson, who had an eighth-place total of 185 (90, 95), and Herring, who had an eighth-place total of 240 (120, 120).
