LAKE BUTLER—The Union County Sheriff’s Office said investigators and deputies, along with members from the Union and Bradford Drug Task Forces, arrested six people before and during a search warrant in Raiford after a months-long investigation.

The agency said officers conducted a search warrant on Friday, January 26 that resulted in the arrests of Wesley Harold Lewis, 55, of Raiford, Gregory S. Barton, 39, of Baker County, and Tara L. West, 34, of Raiford.

Also detained due to the investigation were Jeffery Andrews, 37, of Raiford, Doris “Wendy” Rewis, 48, of Raiford, and Mark Calvin Griffis, Jr., 34, of Raiford.

The defendants were arrested on a variety of drug and weapons charges, except Barton, who was arrested on a probation violation warrant. The agency said Griffis’s arrest resulted from the drug investigation. However, he was not charged with a drug-related crime but rather for burglary and dealing in stolen property.

“Intelligence in this undercover drug operation shows that Lewis was a major drug dealer for our area, and this arrest helps us further our mission on zero drug tolerance for Union County,” the agency said.  “Sheriff (Brad) Whitehead reaffirmed his commitment to continue to pursue drug dealers in Union County, Florida.”

The office added that Union Correctional Institute and Reception Medical Center K-9 Units and Baker County Sheriff’s Office Investigators participated in the operation, which occurred off County Road 229 about two-and-a-half miles north of Raiford.
