Bradford deputies arrested a 35-year-old Marion County man after accusing him of walking out of Walmart with $211 worth of bacon and brisket stuffed down his pants.
James Alfred Baxley of Sparr was arrested on January 31 for petit theft.
According to an arrest report, store video showed the defendant taking the products from the meat aisle and then walking to the shoe aisle, where he stuffed them down his pants. He then exited the store without paying for the merchandise.
Deputy Michael Gillick reported that the seven packs of bacon on the defendant’s person could be easily seen in photographs and in person. Baxley confessed to taking the bacon when contacted. Gillick added that he conducted a pat-down search of Baxley, which also revealed the two packs of brisket in the man’s pants.
