Griffin earns 1st-, 2nd-place finishes for KHHS

Keystone Heights High School’s track and field teams competed at the Feb. 23 Falcon Friday at Menendez High School, with Olyvia Griffin winning the 400m and finishing as runner-up in the 800m.

Griffin crossed the line in 1:03 in the 400m, while running the 800m in 2:42. She also joined Cali Chamberlain, Christine DJavaheri and Kaylee Park in running a sixth-place time of 5:17 in the 4x400m relay.

Park finished eighth in the 400m with a time of 1:10.

Keystone also had the following girls results: 100m — Park 14.28, DJavaheri 14.78, Chamberlain 15.03, Laila Briseno 15.25, Jasmine Walls 16.70; 200m — DJavaheri 29.96, Park 30.44, Chamberlain 32.04, Briseno 32.64, Kenslee Phillips 33.10, Walls 35.93; 400m — DJavaheri 1:16, Phillips 1:18, Walls 1:25; 800m — Brook Graudons 3:17; and 1600m — Graudons 7:24.

The Keystone boys team placed fourth in the 4x400m, with Jaden Park, Ryder Thomas, Ryeland Wahl and Tyler Griffin running a time of 3:51.

Griffin earned a pair of top-six individual finishes, placing fifth in the 800m with a time of 2:15 and sixth in the 400m with a time of 55.71.

Park was sixth in the 200m and seventh in the 100m with times of 24.99 and 11.96. He also had a ninth-place distance of 17-9 in the long jump.

Thomas cleared 5-2.25 to place sixth in the high jump, while also running a seventh-place time of 5:02 in the 1600m.

Other KHHS boys results were: 100m — Jamari Turner 12.67, Josiah Durrenberger 12.72, Tyler Sapp 12.87, Carter Andrews 16.78, Taylor Rozier 17.22; 200m — Durrenberger 25.67, Turner 26.94, Sapp 26.98, De’Shawn Williams 30.84, Andrews 35.52; 400m — Wahl 57.79, Durrenberger 57.95, Sapp 58.16, Turner 59.15, Andrews 1:20; 800m — Hunter Sheppard 2:27, Jason Parales 2:31; 1600m — Wahl 5:22, Parker Pescara 6:25; long jump — Parales 13-11.5; shot put — Ricardo Rosario 27-10.75; and discus — Rosario 70-6.
