The nonprofit overseeing the 2025 100th anniversary of Keystone Heights agreed on a logo for the year-long celebration.

Friends of Keystone Heights, Florida, Inc. met on February 22 to discuss its communications plans, merchandising opportunities, fundraising, budget, and efforts to partner with other Lake Region community groups for the 100th anniversary.

Much of the discussion centered around the group’s growing list of Lake Region community organizations it hopes to partner with during the 2025 observance.

Dierdre Murphy said she recently briefed the Garden Club and Rotary Club about the activities of Friends of Keystone Heights, Florida, Inc.  She added that Friends should similarly brief every Lake Region community group about its plans.

Murphy also told the group that Green Cove Springs is celebrating its 150th year, and Penny Farms will be 100 years old in 2027. She added that in response to the multiple anniversaries, the county’s tourism department is holding milestone meetings in which members of each community can exchange ideas.

The centennial logo is centered around the city’s official trademark, which features the beach pavilion and a private aircraft symbolizing the Keystone Heights Airport.

Readers interested in joining Friends of Keystone Heights, Florida, Inc. may attend a monthly meeting at 10 a.m. on the fourth Thursday at the Keystone Beach Pavilion.
