
Ryder Thompson exhibited the grand champion in the Bradford-Union Swine Association’s show at the Bradford Agricultural Fair.
Thompson’s 247-pound pig was also awarded the homegrown grand championship at the March 5 show. It sold for $28.50 per pound at the March 8 auction to Williams Show Pigs, DLP Bank, M&R Construction, Thompson Mobile Home, Thompson Show Pigs, Crawford Show Pigs, Outlaw Cattle, Brad Thomas, Michael Hardee Timber, Anderson Columbia, Dusty and Laura Griffis, Diesel Powerhouse, Fenix Parts, Murray Ford, Strickland’s Scoop, Keystone RV Resort, Ray’s Metal Works, Precision Crank Shaft, American Transmission, Lawtey Shell, Teal Tile and Carpet, Hamilton Custom Services, C&S Site Prep and Pipeline Constructors.
Aubrey Hewett exhibited the reserve grand champion. The 272-pound animal sold for $26 per pound to Cragg’s Glass Company Inc., Quality Plumbing, Ben Carter, Williams Jewelry, Candace Osteen, IAFF Local 4315, Murray Ford and Courtney Witt.
The homegrown reserve champion was exhibited by Brody Bell. His 270-pound pig sold for $18 per pound to Attorney Steven A. Bagen and Associates, Steve and Amanda Dyal, Suburban Carpet Cleaners, Collins Lawn Care, MEI, Pipeline Constructors, Williams Jewelry, Sheffield Pest Control, ALLFAST Fastener and Tool Supply, West Fraser, Hamilton Environmental, Holden Bell, Billy Bell and Phillip McDonald Plumbing.
Kiersten Clemons and Piper Denmark exhibited the fourth- and fifth-place overall pigs, respectively.
In senior showmanship, Thompson earned first place, while Codi Huntley and Seth Clemons placed second and third, respectively.
Avery Gardener and Ella Hewett were first and second, respectively, in intermediate showmanship. Bell placed third.
Aubrey Hewett topped the junior division in showmanship, while Jett Crawford and Denmark were second and third, respectively.
