Bradford High School’s baseball team won its second straight game after a loss to Keystone on April 16, defeating visiting Hamilton County 8-4 on April 19.
The Tornadoes (9-11) trailed 3-2 before scoring four runs in the fifth. Mattox Burgin walked, followed by Denver Hudson hitting a single. Both scored on a Ryder Thompson single. After Blake Wynn walked, Jeffrey Brugh hit an RBI single with two outs. Ryland Rike walked to load the bases before Wynn scored ona passed ball.
Thompson, who had three RBI, drove in a run on a ground out in the sixth. A wild pitch allowed another run to score in the inning.
Brugh and Hudson each finished 2 for 4, with Brugh driving in one run.
Starting pitcher Cason Pilcher gave up three runs (two earned), three hits and no walks through five innings. He had 11 strikeouts.
Rike threw the final two innings, allowing one run, four hits and one walk, while striking out three.
The Tornadoes entered the game off a 6-0 win at P.K. Yonge on April 18.
Brugh pitched a complete game, giving up three hits.
Bradford scored four its runs in the third inning. Wynn singled, while Jaron Hale walked. Brugh hit a single, with an error on the play allowing a run to score. After Luke Stucky walked to load the bases, Burgin hit a two-run single. Thompson drove in the final run with a two-out single.
Brugh, who went 2 for 4 with two RBI, hit a two-run double in the sixth.
Burgin finished with two RBI, while Thompson, who went 2 for 4, had one.
Wynn finished 2 for 3.
The Tornadoes travel to play Union County on Tuesday, April 23, at 6 p.m. and will host Baldwin on Thursday, April 25, at 7 p.m.
