Meet the Candidates: Diane Andrews

The following in an announcement of intention to seek public office paid for by the candidate.

Diane Andrews

My name is Diane Andrews and I am the County Commissioner for District 5, in Bradford County, and I am seeking your support for reelection.

I have had the honor of  serving as your County Commissioner for the past four years, and have done my best to help the people of Bradford County in whatever way was needed.  I have regularly attended city council meetings in Brooker to ensure that I know and understand their needs and their position on issues facing our county.  There are several things that I have worked diligently towards such as providing a fire station in Brooker, completing the boat ramp at Cypress Run, improving the equipment at Three Pipes, implementing impact fees, continue to work on the county’s budget until we finally have a balanced budget without using our reserves, create a five-year Strategic Plan to measure our successes and failures, allowing our constituents to follow as we proceed through the  process, and be kept informed of what your Board of County Commissioners are working towards for you.

I have learned a great deal in the last four years, and unfortunately I have also learned that some problems are much harder to find an answer than others.  I have searched for answers to making needed repairs to roads such as “River Bend,” “Wynn Cemetery Road,” “Sampson Lake,” and many others in my district, but due to the fact these are private roads, I have been unable to find an answer.  However, it is my  belief that when you are told, “no you can’t do that,” it simply means change directions until you find the right answer.

If reelected, I promise to continue to listen to your suggestions, needs and requests, holding  the position with integrity, honesty and always understanding I am acting as your voice. I would love to see the projects we are working on now come to fruition, and continue to help build a firm foundation for our local government, see our bypass grow and our assets grow to a level where we can lower taxes while still being able to balance our budget from the funds brought in.

I would love to assist in helping Bradford County continue to grow and become the beautiful county that everyone wants to move to, one with great job opportunities,  great schools for their children, cultural events that the citizens could enjoy, while maintaining our small town feel and safety for our residents. Thank you again for the last four years, looking forward to another term of serving you!
