On July 16, the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Bradford County Extension Office celebrated four volunteers who successfully completed the Master Gardener Volunteer Certification Program.

The program is a nine-week program that covers an array of gardening topics including soils and fertilizers; plant identification; pest insect, weed and disease management; fruit and vegetable management; and Florida-Friendly Landscaping practices.

The members of the 2024 Master Gardener volunteer graduating class were Leslie Crosby, Rachel Hall, Charleen Stephens and Freddie Stephens. These new volunteers will join an already dedicated group of Master Gardener volunteers in Bradford County who support the extension office in educating and assisting residents in matters of horticulture, landscape and home food production.

For more information on the Master Gardener Volunteer Program or gardening and plant information, contact Luke Harlow, UF/IFAS Bradford County Extension horticulture and small farms agent, at 904-966-6224.
