Schools welcome families to campus

Bradford County goes back to school on Aug. 12, but families will have an opportunity to visit campus and interact with teachers and administrators at multiple events beginning this weekend out in Brooker 

Brooker Community School will have a Back-to-School Bash open to everyone on Saturday, Aug. 3, beginning at 10:30 a.m. In addition to the backpack and school supply giveaway, lunch will be provided, free haircuts offered and parents will have an opportunity to register their children in person.

Lawtey Elementary School’s Open House is Thursday, Aug. 8, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Meet teachers and drop off school supplies. Snowie Gator will be selling snow cones, and t-shirts will be on sale for $12. 

Bradford Elementary School’s Open House is Thursday, Aug. 8, from 4 to 6 p.m. Come meet the teachers and purchase dinner or a snack from Limp Brizkit or Trippie Hippie. 

Starke Elementary School’s Open House is Thursday, Aug. 8, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Meet teachers and enjoy something from Kona Ice and Big T’s BBQ.

Bradford Middle School’s Open House will be Monday, Aug. 5, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. beginning in the gymnasium. Schedules will be available through Focus. Vendors will have food for sale.

Bradford High School’s Open House is Tuesday, Aug. 6, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Schedules will be available through Focus. Tornado gear and parking passes will be available to purchase. Limp Brizkit and Trippie Hippie will be selling food.

Staggered start for kindergarten will allow smaller groups to adapt to their new environment. Students with last names beginning with A-M will attend Monday, Aug. 12. Students with last names beginning with N-Z will attend Tuesday, Aug. 13. All kindergarteners will begin attending together Wednesday, Aug. 14. Parents will only be allowed to accompany their kindergartener to class on the 12th and 13th.
