Keystone Heights High School took the top-four individual spots in opening boys golf season with a 43-stroke win over St. Johns Classical on Aug. 22 at Magnolia Point Golf and Country Club in Green Cove Springs.
The Indians, who had a nine-hole team score of 184, were led by Ty Mitzel, who was the medalist with a score of 42. Mitzel had a birdie and made par on four holes.
Jacob Beach, who made par on five holes, finished one stroke behind Mitzel with a second-place score of 43.
Cade Begue and Landon Spence placed third and fourth, respectively, with scores of 48 and 51. Begue made par on three holes, while Spence made par on two.
Konner Kelly was sixth with a score of 53, while Hunter Sheppard was seventh with a score of 57.
The Indians play Clay on Tuesday, Aug. 27, at Magnolia Point Golf and Country Club at 3:30 p.m. and will take on Buchholz and Crystal River on Thursday, Aug. 29, at 4 p.m. at Gainesville’s Ironwood Golf Course.
Keystone travels to the Starke Golf and Country Club to play Bradford on Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 3:30 p.m.
