Union County High School hosted a boys golf match at Lake City’s Quail Heights Golf and Country Club on Sept. 5, with Bradford topping Branford by 16 strokes.
The Tigers don’t have a full team this year, with only three players, leaving the Tornadoes and the Buccaneers to battle it out in team competition. Bradford (2-1) finished with a score of 183 and was led by Cody Spratlin, who was the medalist with a score of 39. Spratlin had a birdie and made par on four holes in finishing six strokes ahead of Branford’s Troy Tyler.
Bradford players took the third-, fourth- and fifth-place spots. Tucker Griffis made par on one hole to finish with a score of 47, while Avery Burgin, who had a birdie and made par on two holes, shot a 48. Steven Carter finished at 49.
Union’s Gavin Kuhn made par on one hole and shot a ninth-place score of 55, while Patrick Maxwell shot a 56 to finish in a three-way tie for 10th.
Brysen Tomlinson finished with a score of 70 for the Tigers.
