Indians top 3-team field in Sept. 12 boys golf match

Jacob Beach challenged for medalist honors as the Keystone Heights High School boys golf team defeated Palatka and Peniel Baptist in a Sept. 12 boys golf match at Palatka Golf Club.

The Indians (4-3) had a team score of 188, which put them six strokes ahead of Peniel Baptist and 16 strokes ahead of Palatka.

Beach had a birdie and made par on one hole in finishing with a second-place score of 45. He trailed Peniel Baptist’s Turner Hersey by two strokes.

The Indians’ Ty Mitzel and Konner Kelly were part of a three-way tie for fourth, with each shooting a 47. Mitzel made par on three holes.

Will Begue and Jackson McDaniel placed ninth and 111th, respectively, for Keystone with scores of 49 and 52. McDaniel made par on one hole.

Nate Bardier, who made par on one hole, shot a 12th-place score of 55.
