Lake Butler City Commission members proclaimed October 2024 as American Pharmacists Month at their Tuesday, September 17, 2024 meeting.

This is the third year the municipality has recognized pharmacy professionals for their service to their communities. Jeffry Consaul, Pharm. D., Director of Pharmacy Services at Lake Butler Hospital, and William Garst, Pharm. D., a staff pharmacist at the hospital, attended the meeting.

The proclamation reads:

“The City of Lake Butler recognized the Pharmacy Profession by proclaiming October 2024 as American Pharmacists Month. This proclamation acknowledges the service to our communities by pharmacists and pharmacy technicians. The services provided are much more than access to medications, but a place to receive accurate medication information and communication. The pharmacists also are invaluable with information regarding medication safety and appropriate medication use. The Alachua County Association of Pharmacists (ACAP) Is a Unit Association of the Florida Pharmacy Association affiliated with the American Pharmacists Association. ACAP is one of the main local professional pharmacy associations in north central Florida. As an association, ACAP advocates for appropriate medication-related legislation, serves as a local source for professional development, and is involved in mentoring pharmacy students at the University of Florida.”
