During a December 18 code enforcement hearing, a Pine Street single-wide owner was ordered to bring his property up to City of Starke codes.

Special Magistrate Laura Gapske ruled that the home at 1212 Pine Street, owned by Lloyd M. Grainger, Jr., was a dangerous structure and public nuisance.

“Mow and maintain the property, attach door, properly cover the hole in the exterior side of the structure, and remove or properly repair the unfinished deck,” Gapske wrote in her order.

The magistrate imposed a $100-a-day fine beginning on December 10, a $250-a-day fine after 30 days, and a $500-a-day fine after 60 days for non-compliance.
