On Friday, January 10, Bradford County Fire Rescue, the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office, and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission responded to a distressed boater on Lake Sampson in Bradford County.
According to Fire-Rescue, at around 6:00 p.m., a 911 distress call was received about a partially capsized Jon boat with the boater still on board.
Emergency responders successfully rescued the boater and brought the individual onshore for a medical evaluation.
No injuries were reported, said Fire-Rescue.
A law enforcement source said the boater was spotting for ducks when the accident occurred.
The scene was turned over to FWC.
