Hope Christian Academy earned the season’s first win in varsity girls basketball, defeating host Gainesville Community Christian 42-15 on Jan. 20.
The Lions (1-9) had come close to wins in recent games, losing by one point to Northside Christian on Jan. 14 and then by seven points to Union County High School on Jan. 17, before topping Gainesville Community Christian with 18 points and seven steals from Addyson Wilson.
Aubriana Clark added 11 points, while the Lions also got six points from Morgan Cass, two each from Alyssa Hunt, Autumn Hunt and Natalie Lowe and one from Mackenzie McRaney.
Hope hosts Gainesville Community Christian on Saturday, Jan. 25, at 6 p.m.
