Walker Munroe recorded led the team in points with 16, rebounds with five, assists with five and steals with four in the Hope Christian Academy boys basketball team’s 67-39 win at Gainesville Community Christian on Jan. 20.
It was the fourth straight win for the Lions, who also got 14 points from Gunner Loften, nine from Joele Smith, eight from Brice Flint, six each from Mathew Galer and Zenik Patrick and two each from Rory Foster, Caden Hartzog, Mason Masciocchi and Griffin McCloud.
Smith shared the team high in steals with Munroe.
The Lions (8-6) were coming off a week in which they defeated Northside and Corinth.
Aiden Wilson and Masciocchi had 12 and 10 points, respectively, in a 44-36 win over visiting Northside on Jan. 14. Hope also got nine points from Loften, seven from Munroe, four from Patrick and two from Hartzog.
McCloud had four rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots. He, Maschiocchi, Munroe and Wilson each had two steals.
In a 59-45 home win over Corinth, Wilson led the team with 13 points, while Loften and Munroe each had 11. Masciocchi added eight points, while the Lions also got six from Patrick, three from McCloud and one from Foster.
Masciocchi and McCloud grabbed eight and six rebounds, respectively, while Loften and Munroe each had two assists.
Wilson came away with three steals.
The Lions host Gainesville Community Christian on Saturday, Jan. 25, at 7:30 p.m. Hope then hosts games against Westwood Christian on Monday, Jan. 27, at 6:30 p.m. and First Assembly Christian on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 6 p.m.
