KHHS girls eliminated in district tourney

BY CLIFF SMELLEY

Keystone Heights High School was the number-one seed in the District 4-3A girls soccer tournament, but the Indians, after a first-round bye, lost 2-1 to fifth seed Eastside on Jan. 27 in Keystone.

The Indians, based on Florida High School Athletic Association/Max Preps power rankings, most likely needed to win the district tournament in order to participate in the regional playoffs.

Regional playoff at-large berths will be announced following the completion of district tournaments.

Eastside will play second seed Santa Fe for the District 4 championship on Thursday, Jan. 30, at 7:30 p.m.
