Union County High School ended the regular season with two straight wins, including a 42-41 victory over visiting Hamilton County on Jan. 31.
Heaven Scott poured in 25 points, while also adding six rebounds and seven steals.
The Tigers got nine points from Iamorieah Williams, five points from Ivy Wilson, two points from Faith Sirmones and one point from Brianna Taylor.
Williams led the team in rebounds with nine, while Gabrielle Moore had eight. Williams also had four steals and two blocked shots.
Sirmones blocked two shots as well.
The Tigers entered the game off a 45-40 win over visiting St. Francis on Jan. 30 that snapped a three-game losing streak.
Scott and Sirmones scored 18 and 10 points, respectively. The Tigers also got five points from Taylor, four from Brooke Hunt, three from Moore, two each from Williams and Melinda Mabrey and one from Aundria Phipps.
Union (9-15) is the fifth seed in the District 6-Rural tournament, which is being hosted by Trenton High School. The Tigers play a quarterfinal game against fourth seed Bell on Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 7 p.m. If they win, they’ll play top seed Fort White in a semifinal game on Thursday, Feb. 6, at a time to be determined.
The championship game will be played on Saturday, Feb. 8, at a time to be determined.
