Grace Box, Kalli Kadlec and Jolene Moore showed the grand champions at the March 1 Bradford-Union Youth Goat Show at the Bradford County Fairgrounds.
Box received the meat-breeding doe grand championship, which consisted of a total of 12 animals competing in five classes. Moore exhibited the reserve grand champion.
Meat-breeding class results were as follows: Class 1 — Kassi Kadlec first, Lane Hartley second; Class 2 — Box first, Kalli Kadlec second, Moore third, Shayna Durrance fourth; Class 3 — Moore first, Box second, Jake Markham third; Class 4 — Dylan Brown first; and Class 5 — Hartley first, Wayne Hartley second.
Only two exhibited goats in dairy breeding doe (both in Class 1), with Kalli Kadlec’s animal earning the grand championship and Bret Polk receiving the reserve grand championship.
Four goats in two classes were judged in market wether, with Moore exhibiting the grand champion. Her goat won Class 1 ahead of Jaxson Hanson.
Box received the reserve grand championship in market wether. Her goat won Class 2, with Kassi Kadlec placing second.
The show also included the showmanship competition. Shayna Durrance won in the senior division, while Moore and Kalli Kadlec placed second and third, respectively.
Brown and Markham also competed in senior showmanship.
Box was the winner in junior showmanship, with Kassi Kadlec and Lane Hartley finishing second and third, respectively.
Hanson and Wayne Hartley also competed in the junior division.
Pee-wee showmanship allowed ages 5-7 to gain experience before they’re old enough to compete in the junior division. The event consisted of seven participants: Easton Atteberry, Cash Collins, Kingsley Best, Cadence Duniven, Ava Durrance, Blaine Hartley and Noah Morris.
