A.B. Adams
Ackley Bob “A.B.” Adams, 83, of Brooker went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, March 6, 2025, after an extended illness. He was born Feb. 16, 1942, in Ellisville, to the late Jesse S. Adams and Dorothy Howell Adams. He had a strong work ethic. He was in construction for 48 years, building many commercial projects including the Florida Welcome Center on I-95, Ft. White High School, and numerous condos in St. Augustine, and contributed to the construction of the new fellowship hall of Brooker Baptist Church, and dozens of other projects across Florida and South Georgia. Upon his retirement from commercial work, he became a home builder and developed Shady Oaks subdivision in Brooker. Throughout the years, he poured into the younger generation by providing opportunities to gain knowledge and skills, while teaching the importance of hard work and life lessons. Through this, he was given the nickname of “Papa Bear,” and this nickname has stuck with him since. In addition to his ambition for construction, he enjoyed being outdoors, farming, hunting, and fishing. His love for these things has been shared with and passed down to many friends and family members. He was a member of Brooker Baptist Church and supported his community. He previously served as a council member for the city of Brooker, was a supporter of Brooker Athletic Association, and supported many FFA and 4-H exhibitors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Amelia Adams Varnes; and brother, James Donald Adams.

Born April 20, 1993, in Gainesville, he was the light in the lives of many and the cherished heartbeat of his family. His journey through life was one marked by hard work and determination. He dedicated his skills as a carpenter at Websters Custom Cabinets, however, it was his love of mixed martial arts that pushed him. Those fortunate enough to know him remember his gentle spirit and laid-back demeanor. He was not only a jokester who could bring laughter to any situation, but also a humble man who carried himself with a quiet dignity, always radiating positivity and respect. He had a flair for fashion; he dressed well, always wearing the latest trend. As a young boy he enjoyed skateboarding. As he grew up, he immersed himself in video games and enjoyed diving into books. He was proud to be a father, reveling in the joy that his children brought him. His children, Kyland and Kyran, Laniyah, Zyair, and Langston, were the core of his universe, as he cherished every minute spent with them.
