 The Union County Livestock Association held its first competitive live animal event on Monday, Mar. 17 with the 2025 goat show.

The event began with two classes for dairy goats. In the first class, Cadence Collins won first-place honors, with Weston Daniel placing second and Wave Croft taking third place. In the second class, Shaw Daniel was selected as the first-place winner by Judge Mason Bishop, with Clairabelle Martin (who showed two goats in the class, taking second place for one of her goats and fourth for the other. Addyson Kelley placed third in the second class.

In the overall dairy goat judging, Shaw Daniel took Grand Champion honors, while Cadence Collins took the Reserve Champion title.

There was a single class for pygmy goats with only two entrants. Jacee Box took first place honors and the Grand Champion title while Charley Box placed second and was named Reserve Champion.

Meat goats were shown in three classes. In the first class, Kassi Kadlec took first place, with Lane Hartley in second, Sawyer Dyal in third and Raylan Dyal finishing fourth. In the second class, Jolene Moore placed first, Grace Box second, Wayne Hartley in third, Kali Kadlec in fourth and Lane Hartley in fifth. In the third class, Grace Box was placed first, with Jolene Moore in second and Wayne Hartley in third. In the overall meat goat judging, Grand Champion honors went to Jolene Moore, with Reserve Grand Champion going to Grace Box.

The next class was for weathers. Seven handlers vied for the titles of Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion. After showing their animals, Jolene Moore took Grand Champion honors, while Grace Box took the Reserve Grand Champion title.  Other handlers in the competition were Shaw Daniel, Weston Daniel, Ava Redd, Alden Southwell, and Colt Williams.

In the Showmanship competitions, there were two classes of 4-H Clover Buds. After careful consideration of all of the competitors and their animals, Judge Bishop said that, due to all the competitor’s strengths, skills and attitude he was declaring them all winners. Class one handlers were Weston Androlevich, Jace Hampton, Jepson Howard, Sawyer Stalnaker, Dallas Williams, Kimber Williams and Drake Willis. Class two handlers were Brystol Benton, Malia Hampton, Blaine Hartley, Joy-Del Howard, Jackson McCallister and Peyton Williams.

There were also two classes for Junior Showmanship. In the first class, Grace Box took first place, Wave Croft took second and Wayne Hartley took third. Other competitors were Colt Williams and Clariabelle Martin. In the second class, Lane Hartley won first place with Kassi Kadlec in second and Shaw Daniel in third. Other competitors in the class were Sawyer Dyal and Alden Southwell. The overall top three of the junior class were Kassi Kadlec, Wayne Hartley and Lane Hartley.

In the Intermediate Showmanship class, Weston Daniel took top honors, with Addyson Kelley in second and Kalli Kadlec in third. Other competitiors were Charley Box, Ava Redd and Raylan Dyal.

The final class of the evening was Senior Showmanship. Jolene Moore placed first with Jacee Box in second and Cadence Collins in third.
