Aiden Wossilek homered and drove in three runs in the Keystone Heights High School baseball team’s 10-0, five-inning win over host Orange Park on March 14.
Tyler Brinson and Aiden Screen both pitched in the shutout, with Brinson give up one hit in three innings and Screen allowing none in the final two innings. Screen struck out five batters, while Brinson struck out two.
The Indians (11-4) loaded the bases with no outs in the top of the first, with Destin Harnage walking, Andrew Wilson hitting a single and Screen getting hit by a pitch. Austin Smith walked to force a run in, while Guage Barry drove in another run on a ground out. Brinson pushed the third run across on a sacrifice fly.
Keystone went up 7-0 with a four-run second. Ethan Franklin singled, followed by Wossilek drawing a walk. Harnage drove in a run on a single before Screen was hit by a pitch to load the bases. After Smith ground into a fielder’s choice, which resulted in Wossilek being put out at home, Barry hit an RBI single. Brinson and Tallon Campbell were then both hit by pitches with the bases loaded.
Wossilek, who went 2 for 2, hit a home run to lead off the third. He later hit a two-run single in the fourth.
Barry and Brinson each had two RBI, with Barry batting 2 for 4.
Campbell, Harnage and Smith each finished with one RBI.
The Indians host Paxon on Tuesday, March 25, at 6:30 p.m. and will host Middleburg on Thursday, March 27, at 7 p.m. Keystone travels to play Palatka on Friday, March 28, at 7 p.m. and then travels to play Fernandina Beach on Tuesday, April 1, at 7 p.m.
