Amber Cook
Amber Ann Cook, 75, of Keystone Heights died Sunday, March 16, 2025, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Middleburg following an extended illness.
Survivors are her daughters, Kerry Cook (Jim Bertotto) and Kelly Cook (Michael Brown); three grandchildren; and her best friend, Sue Zajda.
Per her wishes, there will be no formal services.

Winifred Drury
Mrs. Winifred “Winnie” C. Drury, 91, of Starke passed away Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville following a brief illness. She was born Dec. 27, 1933, in Woodbine, Georgia to David F. and Ella Mae (Miller) Cottle. She was employed with the Camden County Health Department for 38 years before retiring. After moving to Starke, she joined First Baptist Church, where she was an active member, being a dedicated prayer warrior and member of JoAnn Hatcher’s Sunday school class. She liked hummingbirds and traveling to the mountains, and she had a sweet tooth for her chocolate, but, most of all, she loved her friends and family and never met a stranger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Edgar Cottle, twin brother, Wilton “Buddy” Cottle and Marion Cottle; and sister, Shirley Moore. She leaves behind nieces, nephews, and a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 27, at First Baptist Church, with Pastor Harry Hatcher officiating. A private interment will be at Crosby Lake Cemetery.

Anthony ‘Andy’ Shepherd
Anthony “Andy” Lee Shepherd, 65, of Melrose, passed away Thursday, March 20, 2025. Andy was born in Gainesville on June 25, 1959. He graduated from Hawthorne High School in 1977 before going to work for Alltel/Windstream, serving the Melrose and surrounding areas for 38 years as the local “phone man” before retiring in 2015. He was preceded in death by his father, Bob Shepherd.
Survivors are his mother, Joanne Shepherd; wife, Faye Shepherd; brother, Steve Shepherd; son, Daniel Shepherd; grandchildren, Cadyn Williams and Kenley Shepherd; and many other close family and friends.
His wishes were to be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
He will be missed and always loved.
