With at-large bids, every District 8-1A KHHS lifter will advance to Region 2 meet

Zane Leger was one of nine Keystone lifters to earn at-large Region 2-1A berths in both Olympic and traditional. The Indians also had an additional four earn at-large Olympic bids and three earn at-large traditional bids.

Keystone Heights High School’s individual champions at the District 8-1A boys weightlifting meet automatically qualified for the Region 2 meet, but with the release of the at-large berths, it was revealed that every lifter who competed at the district meet will move on.

The Region 2 meet will be hosted by KHHS on Friday, April 4, at 4 p.m.

Nine lifters earned at-large berths in both Olympic and traditional: Dylan Currington (119-pound class), Aiden Nobles (129), Brodyn Adams (169), Layton Wright (169), Hunter Crumpton (183), Talon Lybarger (183), Zane Leger (199), Logan Madden-Moore (219) and Pete Bostic (238).

Caleb Alvers (139), Connor Mooneyham (139), Brayden McCall (154) and Andrew Snider (unlimited) received at-large Olympic bids, while Jagger Lancaster (154), Trase Wooden (219) and Jackson Herman (unlimited) earned at-large traditional bids.

Herman and Wooden were also automatic qualifiers in Olympic as district champions.

Keystone’s other automatic qualifiers were Elijah Mize (119), Colton Hollingsworth (129), Kyle Perkins (199) and Brayden Wester (238) in both Olympic and traditional, Clark Byrnes (154) in Olympic and Damien Dunlap (154) in traditional.
