Bradford High School’s softball team scored eight runs in the second inning en route to defeating visiting North Marion 13-1 on April 4.

The Tornadoes (6-6) scored all of the runs they’d need before that big second inning, with Addyson Hinds and Kolee Lemire each hitting an RBI single as part of a four-run first inning.

Bradford scored all of its second-inning runs with two outs. With no one aboard, Kallie Yowell hit a double and later advanced to third on a passed ball. Courtesy runner Kendall Mort, who entered for Hinds, who walked, stole second before Summer Sutton and Tayrn Flowers hit back-to-back RBI singles. Regan Adams followed with a two-run single, while an error on Lemire’s bunt single allowed another run to score.

The inning continued with back-to-back singles by Kingslee Phillips and Keegan Yowell, with Phillips’ hit driving in a run. Amber Wynn then hit a two-run double.

Wynn and Adams finished with two RBI each.

Lemire went 2 for 2 with an RBI, while Phillips and Sutton each went 2 for 3 with an RBI.

Flowers and Hinds each had one RBI, while Kallie Yowell batted 2 for 4.
