Bella Cumbo drove in two runs, while Kadence Massey pitched a three-hit shutout in the Keystone Heights High School softball team’s 6-0 win over host Bradford on April 22.
Massey walked just one and struck out eight.
Cadie Bowles, who went 2 for 4 with an RBI, hit the first of her two doubles in a two-run third. After Massey walked, Bowles scored on an Amber Wagner single. Cumbo then drove in a run on a sacrifice bunt.
Bowles reached on an error in the fifth and scored with two outs on a Cumbo triple. An error on the play allowed Cumbo to score and make it a 4-0 game.
The Indians scored their final runs in the sixth. Kaleigh Marquart singled, but was put out at second when Tayler Buchanan hit into a fielder’s choice. Buchanan scored on Bowles’ second double, while Bowles scored her team’s sixth run on an error.
Bowles was one of only two batters with multiple hits in the game. Bradford’s Tayrn Flowers went 2 for 3.
