Union County High School junior Amia Bethea put together an impressive performance during track-and-field season and was named to the all-area teams of three local publications.

Bethea earned two medals at the Class 2A track-and-field finals, placing fifth in the 100m with a time of 11.87 seconds and seventh in the 200m with a time of 25.14. Her 100m time broke her own school record.

The season Bethea had, which also included district and regional championships in the 100m and a district championship in the 200m, got her placed on the Mainstreet Daily News-Bosshardt Realty Small-School All-Area Girls Team and also resulted in her being a Gainesville Sun All-Area first-team selection.

Bethea earned second-team Florida Times-Union All-First Coast Girls Team honors as well.
