COMMENCING OCTOBER 1, 2025

The Board of County Commissioners (the “Board”) of Bradford County, Florida (the “County”) will consider adoption of an impact fee ordinance providing for the imposition and collection of impact fees on new growth and development to fund fire protection, law enforcement and emergency medical services facilities necessary to serve the new growth and development, commencing October 1, 2025. In accordance with section 163.31801, Florida Statutes, the County hereby provides notice of its intent to adopt the new impact fees and rate schedules set forth below. Each impact fee is subject to an administrative charge of 2% of the amount paid to cover the cost of administration and collection.

The impact fees will be imposed in all unincorporated areas of the County and within those municipalities which enter into an interlocal agreement with the County by which a municipality agrees to collect the County’s impact fees and remit the proceeds thereof to the County. The City of Starke provides its own fire protection facilities so the County’s fire impact fees will not be imposed within the municipal boundaries of Starke.

The public is invited to attend the July 17, 2025 Board meeting for consideration of the proposed impact fee Ordinance. Persons are advised that if they decide to appeal any decision made at this meeting, they will need a record of the proceeding and, for such purpose, they may need to ensure a verbatim record of the hearing is made which includes testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.

Copies of the proposed impact fee Ordinance are available in the County Manager’s office, 945 North Temple Ave, Starke, FL 32091.

If a person decides to appeal any decision made by the Board with respect to any matter considered at such meeting or hearing, he or she will need a record of the proceedings, and that, for such purpose, he or she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. The Bradford County Local Mitigation Strategy (LMS) Planning Committee/Workgroup will meet July 17th, 2025, at 3:00 pm in the Bradford County Emergency Operations Center (EOC) located in the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office at 945B North Temple Avenue, Starke, FL 32091.  Bradford County Emergency Management encourages any interested citizens and business owners to attend and provide input.  The Committee guides the preparation and contents of the Bradford County Local Mitigation Strategy which serves as the plan submitted to the Florida Division of Emergency Management to reduce the community’s long-term risk for protecting people and property from the effects of natural disasters and to build a safer and stronger community.
