A Canada-based real estate firm put Lake Santa Fe in its top 20 most desirable waterfront properties in North America.

CalgaryHomes.CA stated that it surveyed over 3,000 people online in developing the ranking, which places three California lakes in its top three: Big Bear Lake, Lake Tahoe, and Shasta Lake. Rounding out the top 10 were Tracadie Bay on Prince Edward Island, Lake Weir, near Ocala, Grand Lake in Colorado, Norris Lake in Tennessee, Lake Tahoe in Nevada, Whitefish Lake in Montana and Jackson Lake in Wyoming.

In listing Lake Santa Fe at Number 17, the firm said, “Lake Santa Fe has a reputation as one of north-central Florida’s hidden gems. It draws both seasonal and year-round residents, many of whom live in older homes shaded by oak trees with classic boathouses. The area’s focus is simple: boating, paddleboarding, and enjoying life outdoors – without the tourist traffic.”

The only other Florida lake making the top 184 was Lake Dora, north of Orlando, which came in at Number 43.
