Interlachen running back Raszir Phelps scored three touchdowns as the visiting Rams defeated the Keystone Heights High School football team 36-0 in the 2025 season opener on Aug. 22.
Rams quarterback Ben Aguayo threw a touchdown to Garret Riddley, who notched another TD from a scoop-and-score off a failed Keystone punt. Those scores, plus two of Phelps’ touchdowns, gave Interlachen a 28-0 lead at halftime.
Phelps ran for an additional touchdown in the second half.
D.J. McKennon ran for two-point conversions following three of the Rams’ touchdowns.
Keystone Coach Steve Reynolds said the team played their hearts out, while also mentioning “we will do better as coaches to make sure our team is better prepared for the game.”
The Indians fielded a squad mostly of freshmen and sophomores, putting them at a disadvantage in terms of size and experience.
Hunter Crumpton led the Indians in rushing with 89 yards on 24 carries. Trase Wooden ran for 13 on five carries.
Crumpton also led the defense, along with Tallon Lybarger, both of whom had four tackles. Michael Gamble, De’shawn Williams, Luke Bacorn, Pete Bostic and Clay Ross had three tackles each.
Ryder Thomas racked up a total of 156 punting yards off of his five attempts for a 31.2-yard average.
Keystone travels to Lake Butler to play Union County on Friday, Aug. 29, at 7:30 p.m. Union is coming off a 21-6 loss to Yulee.
In last season’s meeting, the Tigers defeated the Indians 35-0.
