KHHS’ Wagner is 1st in match vs. Gainesville

Amber Wagner earned medalist honors for the Keystone Heights High School girls golf team in a Sept. 16 match against host Gainesville at Ironwood Golf Course.

The Indians finished with a team score of 256. Gainesville had only two players.

Wagner shot a 57, which put her two strokes ahead of Gainesville’s Lila Baker.

Jasmine Walls, who made par on two holes, and Zoey Gill placed third and fourth, respectively, with scores of 64 and 66.

Emily Cunningham and Jillian Huntley finished in a three-way tie for fifth with Gainesville’s Avery Hart. Each shot a 69, with Cunningham making par on one hole.

The Indians also had the following results: Evelyn Bardier eighth, 70; Bryley Lee ninth, 73; Ila Miller 10th, 74; Averi Hemphill 11th, 75; and Jensie Paddock 12th, 80.

Keystone plays Branford on Tuesday, Sep. 23, at Lake City’s Quail Heights Country Club and will travel to play Fleming Island and Middleburg at The Golf Club at Fleming Island on Monday, Sept. 29, at 3:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, Sept. 30, the Indians play Orange Park and St. Johns Country Day at Fleming Island’s Eagle Harbor Golf Club at 3:30 p.m.
