The Florida High School Athletic Association released its inaugural football power rankings, which revealed that Bradford High School is third in Class 2A and first in Region 2 of the class.
Bolles (4-1) and St. Petersburg Lakewood (5-0) are first and second, respectively, in 2A.
Rankings, which take record and strength of schedule into account, will be updated weekly and be used to determine playoff seeding and at-large qualifiers.
Bradford is currently 4-1, with three of its wins coming against top-20 teams in Class 3A: South Sumter (eighth), Eastside (13th) and Baker County (18th).
The four district champions in each of the four regions in 2A automatically qualify for the playoffs. Each region will also have four at-larger qualifiers.
In Region 2, the top eight teams, in order, are currently Bradford, The Villages (5-0), Santa Fe (4-0), Cocoa (2-3), Clearwater Calvary Christian (2-3), Titusville Astronaut (3-2), Tampa Catholic (1-4) and Lake Placid (2-2).
