Hope Christian Academy’s volleyball team defeated host Northside Christian 2-1 (23-25, 25-16, 15-1) on Sept. 25 to remain undefeated.
The Lions (9-0) got six assists, three blocks and three kills from Addy Wilson. Briley Parrish and Allyssa Wilson also had three kills each.
Loralai Green led the team in service aces with five, while Mackenzie McRaney had four.
Hope travels to play Gainesville Christian Community on Tuesday, Sept. 30, at 6 p.m., following a junior varsity match at 5 p.m. The Lions will travel to Jasper to play Corinth Christian on Thursday, Oct. 2, at 5:30 p.m., with the JV teams playing at 4:30 p.m.
Northside fell to 6-9 on the season with 2-0 losses to both Savannah Christian on Sept. 26 and South Effingham on Sept. 27. The Eagles host First Christian on Tuesday, Sept. 30, at 5 p.m. and will travel to play Corinth Christian on Friday, Oct. 3, at 5 p.m.
The Eagles and the Lions will both play in Northside’s annual Dig Pink Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 4. Six teams in all will take part, with team monetary donations going toward benefitting someone with cancer.
Action begins with round-robin play at 2 p.m. with Hope taking on Hawthorne and Northside playing Hilliard. At 3 p.m., Cedar Key will play Hawthorne, while Crossroad Christian will play Hilliard. At 4 p.m., Hope will play Cedar Key, while Northside will play Crossroad Christian.
Round-robin results will determine 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. matchups, with championship and consolation matches then being played at 7 p.m.
Trophies will be awarded to the first-, second- and third-place teams.
An all-tournament team will be selected, with one player earning MVP honors.
Admission is $10 adults and $5 for children.
Northside will host Gainesville Christian Community on Monday, Oct. 6, at 6 p.m., following a junior varsity match at 4:30 p.m. On Tuesday, Oct. 7. Both Eagles teams will travel to Live Oak to play Westwood Christian, with matches taking place at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.
