Retired teacher finds pair of rattlers

Retired high school agriculture teacher Greg Alvarez said he was mowing a pasture near the Union-Bradford County line, off County Road 229, when his dog started barking and circling an area.

While investigating, the former instructor found a pair of rattlesnakes, between four and five feet long.

Alvarez, who now serves on the Bradford County Fair board, said he suspects the snakes were mating when his dog found them in the area of the Dyal and Connor cemeteries.
