Union County High School played Branford in boys golf on Oct. 16 in Lake City, with the Tigers’ Ayden Tomlinson finishing in third place behind co-medalists Jon Weisner and Easton Young.
Branford won with a team score of 214, while Union had a score of 238.
Tomlinson shot a 54 to finish five strokes behind Branford’s Weisner and Young.
Emery Muse was fifth with a score of 58, while Gavin Kuhn was in a two-way tie for sixth with a score of 61.
Brysen Tomlinson and Fenix Norman were ninth and 10th, respectively, with scores of 65 and 66.
The Tigers entered the match off a loss to host Madison County on Oct. 14.
Madison had a score of 164 to Union’s 218.
The Tigers were led by Ayden Tomlinson’s fifth-place finish. Tomlinson made par on two holes in finishing with a score of 47.
Kuhn and Brysen Tomlinson were sixth and seventh, respectively, with scores of 51 and 55. Each made par on one hole.
Norman shot a ninth-place score of 65, while Muse shot an 11th-place score of 67.
