BHS runners end season at district meet

Bradford High School’s Anna Adkins was approximately one minute away from qualifying for regionals with her performance at the District 2-2A cross-country meet, which was held Nov. 3 at Jacksonville’s Bishop Kenny High School.

The top four individuals who weren’t members of the top eight regional qualifying teams earned the right to advance. P.K. Yonge’s Leanne Dietrich was the last individual qualifier with a 61st-place time of 22:39.

Adkins placed 66th in the 131-runner field with a time of 23:35.

Bradford’s Mia Olesen also ran in the girls race, finishing with a time of 26:17.

Steven Carter was the Tornadoes’ highest finisher in the boys race, placing 81st out of 163 with a time of 19:50.

Also running in the boys race were Kayden Lee, who had a time of 23:28, Liam Reeves, who had a time of 23:36, Kolson Lee, who had a time of 24:06 and Caden Eison, who had a time of 28:47.

The Tornadoes were 17th out of 18 in the boys team standings.
