Keystone’s Engine 11 knocked out of service

According to the driver involved in the accident, he crashed into the apparatus after another driver made a sudden turn, cutting him off. The driver collided with the other vehicle and then careened into the fire engine.

 Clay County Fire Rescue’s Station 11 in Keystone Heights is without Engine 11 after a driver lost control and crashed into the vehicle.

According to the driver involved in the accident, he crashed into the apparatus after another driver made a sudden turn, cutting him off. The driver collided with the other vehicle and then careened into the fire engine.

Engine 11 was responding to an emergency call at the time.

The accident occurred at approximately 2:14 p.m. on Saturday, November 1, just as the engine was leaving the station on State Road 21.

Fire rescue officials sent the damaged vehicle to a repair shop, and a spare has been put in service until Engine 11 can be repaired and returned to active duty.
